General Questions (All Programs)
What weight loss programs does Healing Hands offer?
We offer three doctor-guided paths: ChiroThin (natural, real-food program with weekly check-ins), GLP Weight Loss (medical, GLP-1 medications plus coaching), and Body Contouring (non-surgical red light therapy). Dr. Cao will help you choose the right fit.
Is Dr. Cao involved in the weight loss programs?
Yes. Dr. Cao personally coaches every weight loss patient. For ChiroThin and Body Contouring, she designs and supervises your plan. For GLP Weight Loss, a partner medical group handles the prescribing - Dr. Cao is your coach, advocate, and weekly check-in throughout the program.
Do I need to have a certain amount of weight to lose to be a candidate?
No single number. ChiroThin works well for a range of goals. GLP Weight Loss is generally a better fit if you have 20+ lbs to lose. Body Contouring is for patients at or near a healthy weight who want to target specific areas.
Is a consultation required before starting?
Yes. Every patient starts with a no-cost consultation so we can understand your goals, health history, and lifestyle before recommending a plan.
How much do the programs cost?
Pricing varies by program. GLP Weight Loss Metabolism Reset (3-month coaching) is approximately $1,500; medication is billed separately by the partner medical group. ChiroThin and Body Contouring pricing is reviewed during your consultation. No hidden fees.
GLP Weight Loss - Program & Medication
What are GLP-1 medications?
GLP-1 medications are a class of prescription medications that help reduce appetite and support steady fat loss when paired with coaching, nutrition, and lifestyle changes.
How does the program work?
You start with a 10-minute qualification call, then enroll in our 3-month Metabolism Reset Program. You receive weekly coaching with Dr. Cao, personalized nutrition guidance, and daily accountability. Medications are prescribed and shipped by our partner medical group and US-licensed compounding pharmacy.
What is the difference between this program and taking medication on my own?
Medication alone tends to produce smaller, harder-to-keep results. Our program adds weekly coaching, nutrition guidance, side-effect support, and a maintenance plan - so you get better results during the program and a better chance of keeping them after.
Who prescribes the medication?
Independent licensed physicians through our partner medical group. Dr. Cao does not prescribe medications. She is your coach, advocate, and weekly check-in throughout the program.
Where is the medication sourced?
From a US-licensed compounding pharmacy. Medications are compounded in the USA, tested for quality, and shipped directly to your door.
Is the medication safe?
GLP-1 medications have an established safety profile when prescribed and supervised by a licensed physician. Your prescribing physician will review your health history before any medication is prescribed.
What are the most common side effects?
Mild nausea, reduced appetite, and digestive changes are the most common. These usually improve as your body adjusts. Dr. Cao supports you through dose changes and any side effects you experience.
Who is a good candidate for GLP Weight Loss?
Adults with 20+ lbs to lose who've struggled with diet and exercise alone and are ready for a physician-supervised, structured program with real support.
How much will I lose?
Results vary. Most patients experience meaningful, steady weight loss with the right coaching and consistency. Dr. Cao will set realistic goals with you during your consultation.
What happens after the 3-month program ends?
We help you transition off medication with a maintenance plan built around habits that last. The coaching phase ends - the changes don't.
Payment & Insurance
Do you accept insurance for weight loss programs?
Weight loss programs are typically not covered by insurance, but HSA and FSA funds are often eligible. We'll help you understand your options.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check, all major credit cards, and HSA / FSA cards.
Are payment plans available?
For some programs, yes. We'll review options at your consultation so there are no surprises.
Do you accept HSA or FSA?
Yes. Many weight loss expenses qualify for HSA or FSA reimbursement. Check with your plan administrator for specifics.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice on appointment changes. We'll review the specifics of each program's policy with you before you start.
ChiroThin - Natural Weight Loss
What is the ChiroThin program?
ChiroThin is a doctor-supervised natural weight loss program that uses real food from your grocery store, weekly in-office check-ins, and daily online monitoring. It's designed to build healthy habits that last beyond the program.
How long is the ChiroThin program?
The core program runs for about six weeks of active weight loss, followed by a maintenance phase to help you keep your results. Dr. Cao will tailor the timeline to your goals at your consultation.
Can I eat real food on ChiroThin?
Yes - real food, from your local grocery store. ChiroThin is built around whole foods. No shakes, no bars, no meal replacements.
Does insurance cover ChiroThin?
Weight loss programs are typically not covered by insurance, but HSA and FSA funds are often eligible. We'll review your options at your consultation.
What makes ChiroThin different from other diets I've tried?
Three things: real food, weekly doctor-led check-ins, and daily accountability. Most diets fail because they're either too restrictive or too solo. ChiroThin is structured but realistic, and you're never alone.
Body Contouring
What is body contouring?
A non-invasive, non-surgical service that uses red light therapy to target fat cells in specific areas. No injections, no anesthesia, no downtime.
How does it work?
Red light energy helps break down fat cells in the treated area. Your body naturally processes the cells over time. Most patients find sessions comfortable and relaxing.
What areas can be treated?
Waist and abdomen, hips and outer thighs, thighs, arms, and the chin and neck area.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the area and your goals. A series of sessions is typically recommended for the best results. Dr. Cao will recommend a plan at your consultation.
Does body contouring help me lose weight?
Not exactly. Body contouring is a body-composition tool that targets stubborn fat in specific areas. It works best alongside a healthy lifestyle or a weight loss program - not as a replacement for one.
Is it safe?
Yes - red light therapy is non-invasive, non-surgical, and has an established safety profile. There's no downtime; you can return to your day right after a session.
When will I see results?
Results typically build over the course of your sessions and continue as your body naturally processes fat cells. Many patients begin to notice changes after a few sessions.
Does insurance cover body contouring?
Typically not. Body contouring is generally considered elective and is not covered by insurance.

You'll meet with Dr. Cao to review your goals, health history, and any prior weight loss experiences. She'll recommend the program that fits, explain how it works, and answer your questions. No pressure.
Do I have to start the program the same day?
No. The consultation is for understanding your options. You can take time to decide.
How soon can I start after enrolling?
